Fanzines! Call for zines

FANZINES! is a festival dedicated to fanzines and self-published books inOctober 2011, at the Marguerite Duras Public Library in Paris.

For this festival they are preparing an exhibition of Fanzines from around the world. The idea is that you sent one or more zines from your production, which will be exhibited in Paris from the 1st to the 22nd of October 2011. The Expo will be seen by a large audience – people coming to the Festival, as well as the regular users of the Public Library.

After the Expo is over, the Fanzine will be integrated into the special Fanzine Collection of the Public Library, so that interested readers may check it out anytime in the future!

Please send your Fanzine(s) to the following address until 1 September 2011 at the latest:

Zine-Making in the Heartland : NOW ON DISPLAY

Zinefest’s accompanying art show this year is called “Zine-Making in the Heartland” and it’s on display through the end of July at the Seward Cafe in Minneapolis. This show features the zine collection of Andy Sturdevant.  Please reference the accompanying catalog which details the origin and impact of each book on display.

Zinefest Awarded Grant Money for 2010

Zinefest has the distinction of winning the smallest dollar amount from the Minnesota State Arts Board’s 2010 Festival Grant.  We’re tiny and proud!  Congratulations to all the other winners, including our friends at Red Hot Art and the Rain Taxi Book Festival.  LINK!
