catnose comics website
Catnose Comics is VAS Littlecrow’s Comic Art Division. Exploiting inner demons for fun and profit since 1998. Both were born out of the ashes of Zitro No Loca Arts (ZNLArts.) ZNLArts’ founder, Vanesa Littlecrow W, began creating zines, prints and mini-comics by sneaking into the principal’s office copier and piecing her booklets together with needle and thread, back in 1989. Eventually this non-corporate publishing firm grew to create free regional entertainment zines like The Electric Walleye and Synergy. Both publication boasted a maximum circulation of 15,000 units each, and were distributed in four different states and Puerto Rico. ZNLArts eventually dissolved in 1997. Out of its ashes VAS Littlecrow and Catnose Comics were born. VAS Littlecrow is a multidisciplinary arts firm that creates fearless visual arts. Catnose Comics publishes a variety of edgy and thought provoking webcomics, zines and mini-comics. Catnose Comics is a woman, queer and minority owned publishing enterprise that is proud to remain non-corporate. |

queer zine archive project website
The mission of the Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) is to establish a “living history” archive of past and present queer zines and to encourage current and emerging zine publishers to continue to create. In curating such a unique aspect of culture, we value a collectivist approach that respects the diversity of experiences that fall under the heading “queer.” The primary function of QZAP is to provide a free on-line searchable database of the collection with links allowing users to download electronic copies of zines. By providing access to the historical canon of queer zines we hope to make them more accessible to diverse communities and reach wider audiences. |
